![]() ![]() I can't particularly say I agree with this if it turns out that most of them eventually feature in the game, held back through the series' prohibitive DLC practices. The explanation is through the lack of his previous rivals not being in WWE 2K17. In addition to this, the 2K Showcase mode has disappeared, so the story of Brock Lesnar won’t be told like those of the previous stars that covered the WWE 2K games. The game’s development would have likely reached a level where the developers would have had problems integrating it into the game. It's perfectly understandable that the brand split isn't an aspect of this release. However, it still has some issues that will only be fixed by a near complete overhaul. Much like the in-ring production, WWE 2K17 has improved on a number of things. However, as the television production changed over time, the game has almost mimicked it. Wandering around the arenas, making your own path to the top, it always kept me engrossed. Particularly when you got to actually control a brand, or at least follow a story of your own. The Smackdown vs Raw series was, for me, the best sports games around. A little over a decade later I've seen a little and the production is arguably the best it's been in a long time.Įven during the period of not watching wrestling, the games were a part of my life. I loved the theatrics, but around 2005 I stopped watching. The "please, don't try this at home" warnings were consistently ignored. Stone Cold, The Rock, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle and so many more were part of my life growing up. I used to love wrestling, but I can't exactly say I'm a fan now. If you're willing to dedicate some real time and effort, though, you're almost guaranteed a rewarding experience on par with any pay-per-view the WWE has to offer.WWE 2K17 is a curious beast. Between the hyper-detailed character-creation tools, the library of hundreds of wrestling moves, and the show-management options, WWE 2K17's robust features make it an overwhelming experience and not for the faint of heart. ![]() ![]() It's ridiculously deep, which is ironically the best example of the game's biggest weakness. The game's improved Creation Suite lets players craft every detail of their own custom WWE superstar (or edit any of the existing superstars), from their looks to their moves to even the branding on the clothes they wear. The improved M圜areer mode actually feels natural, with the plot progressing organically throughout the entire story, rather than feeling broken up into disjointed chunks. WWE 2K17 takes everything fans have loved about previous games and makes it bigger, better, and more polished. Now comes WWE 2K17, the biggest and best WWE game to date, a super heavyweight entry packed with enough content and features to take on even the most finicky pro wrestling fan in a no-holds-barred throw-down. While the running mantra of the WWE is "Don't try this at home," 2K Games' WWE franchise has given fans the opportunity to do just that - from the safety of the couch. It combines the athletic showboating of gladiatorial games with the drama of a soap opera. This incredibly deep, detailed sports sim brings the majesty of wrestling to gamers, but its depth could keep some players at arm's length.
